XOGO Application updates and Chrome Device Management

Our digital signage solution involves two key components—Chrome OS and the XOGO player application—both of which receive periodic updates. While issues during updates are uncommon, code changes can occasionally lead to unexpected behavior.
To ensure stability, we recommend the following approach:

•  Pin Chrome OS: Lock your devices to a specific Chrome OS version using Chrome Device Management to prevent automatic updates until you’re ready to test.

•  Pin the XOGO Player Application: Similarly, pin the XOGO player app to its current version to control when updates are applied.

•  Incremental Testing: Test updates on a single device by upgrading to the latest Chrome OS or XOGO player app version. Verify performance before rolling out updates across your fleet.

This strategy adds some administrative overhead but significantly reduces the risk of disruptions. You can manage these settings directly in Chrome Device Management, and extensive documentation is available online for pinning Chrome OS versions and applications.
