If only a single asset exists in a playlist, the transition is avoided automatically. This avoids the need to extend the duration as previously advised. The use of an overlay (below) still works well and provides more control over the refresh rate URL assets. 

Using an Overlay: You can also upload your image as an overlay, in which case there will never be any image transitions.
