There are a few reasons why an asset (image or video) doesn't play, is skipped or comes up black. 

1. The asset resolution is too high. Perhaps your player only supports 1080p but you are running a 4K asset

2. The asset was accidently (or intentionally) hid an asset in your playlist

3. In the advanced schedule the asset is not scheduled to play
