DNS configuration methods vary depending on your XOGO device model.
Original Models (Mini, Mini One, Mini Two, Mini 2B)
These devices are locked to DHCP (Dynamic IP assignment) and cannot be manually configured on the device itself.
DNS Configuration Method:
To assign a custom DNS server, use your router's DHCP reservation feature:
Access your router's configuration interface
Locate the DHCP reservation settings
Bind a static IP or desired DNS to the device's MAC address
Mini Max Model
The Mini Max offers enhanced flexibility with two configuration options:
Option 1: Router-Based (DHCP Reservation)
Use the same DHCP reservation method as original models
Option 2: Direct Device Configuration
Press the Settings button on the remote control
Navigate to Network settings
Change the connection type from Dynamic to Static
Enter your preferred DNS server(s) directly on the device
Recommendation:
All XOGO devices are affordable, highly reliable, and built on a robust network stack with strong industry feedback. However, if you require direct control over DNS settings without router configuration, the Mini Max is the recommended choice.
Device Comparison:
Original Models: Router-based DNS configuration only
Mini Max: Router-based OR direct device configuration
