How do I collect logs from a Microsoft Teams Room?

A step-by-step guide for sharing device logs with XOGO Support

When a Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) isn’t showing digital signage as expected, the device logs help us see exactly what is happening. You can collect them from the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management portal in just a few minutes. Collecting logs runs in the background and does not interrupt the room or any meetings in progress.

Before you begin:

• You’ll need access to the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management portal for your organization.

• Know which room is having the problem. If more than one room is affected, logs from one of them are usually enough to start.

Collect the logs

Step 1. Open the room’s actions. In the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal, go to Rooms and select the affected room. In the panel that opens, click the Actions tab, select Log Collection, and click Run.

Step 2. Choose the logs to collect. In the window that appears, open the list of logs and select these three:

• Teams Rooms

• Teams Rooms Pro Management agent

• Teams Rooms (from user feedback)

Step 3. Add a reason and run it. Enter a reason for running, such as “Troubleshooting Signage Problems”, then click Run. The collection can take a few minutes to finish.

Step 4. Download the log file. When the collection is finished, open the room’s Activity tab. The new log file (a .zip) will appear under Room logs. Click Refresh if you don’t see it yet, then download the file.

Send the logs to XOGO Support

• Reply to your support email or chat with the .zip file attached.

• If the file is too large to email, upload it to the secure folder support shared with you.

• Let us know the room name exactly as it appears in the portal, so we can match the logs to the right device.

Signage assignment errors? Send the CSV too

If the problem started when you assigned digital signage to rooms, the portal creates a CSV file for that assignment. It usually lists any errors, so please include it along with the logs.

Thank you for your help. Once we receive the logs, we’ll review them and follow up with next steps.
